Part two of our travel dessert series takes us to Florence, Italy. While in Florence, we took a fresh pasta cooking class that included making Tiramisu. We made the pasta from scratch as well and it was amazing. Even more amazing was the dessert. Hand whipping the eggs and sugar together and then adding that rich creamy mascarpone only leads to pure decadence. It’s not a difficult dessert to make and doesn’t have a long list of ingredients: eggs, sugar, mascarpone, Savoiardi (ladyfingers), and coffee/espresso (brandy is optional but yummy). There are many variations of this dessert but the traditional is our favorite.
Sweet treats to you,
