Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean it’s time to stop eating sweets. Our inspiration comes from a picture in a magazine of a decadent vanilla cake loaded with buttercream and fresh strawberries. Lucky for us, living in California allows us to get fresh fruit anytime. So we made light vanilla genoise cake, fresh sweet strawberries (you could use frozen if fresh are not available) and a swiss buttercream (made from meringue, butter and sugar).
The result is a light, refreshing cake with sweet juicy strawberries and a buttercream that melts in your mouth. A perfect beginning or ending to any event or party.
